Delta AgroFiber Solutions was built on a conviction that agriculture can lead the charge in sustainability — and that Louisiana's land, climate, and people are uniquely positioned to make that happen.
Shawn Ledig is a structural engineer, regenerative agriculture advocate, and serial entrepreneur with deep roots in American South construction and environmental solutions. He founded Delta AgroFiber Solutions on the belief that the crops growing in Louisiana's fields hold the key to solving some of the most pressing material and environmental challenges of our time.
With decades of experience leading multimillion-dollar infrastructure and engineering projects across the American South, Shawn earned a reputation for solving complex environmental challenges through innovation rather than convention. When the 2018 Federal Farm Bill opened the door to commercial industrial hemp production, he saw an opportunity that Louisiana's agricultural community was uniquely positioned to seize.
Under his leadership, Delta became the first company in Louisiana to successfully grow, harvest, and process USDA-compliant non-consumable industrial hemp — taking the crop from certified seed all the way through to fibre, hurd, and structural material outputs. That milestone established not just a business but a proof of concept for what the American South can do with this extraordinary plant.
"Industrial hemp isn't just a crop — it's a solution. From rural fields to national innovation stages, we are empowering growers, capturing carbon, and building a cleaner future from the ground up."Delta AgroFiber Solutions — Mandeville, Louisiana
Delta operates in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana — one of the most ecologically rich and agriculturally diverse regions in the American South. Our proximity to Louisiana's farming communities, waterways, and transportation infrastructure gives us direct access to the feedstock, the markets, and the people this operation is built for.
Louisiana's climate — long growing seasons, high humidity, and the deep alluvial soils of the Mississippi Delta region — creates conditions that are highly favourable for industrial hemp cultivation. Delta has spent years developing the cultivar selection, agronomic knowledge, and processing infrastructure specific to these conditions.
Every acre we plant in Louisiana is a step toward demonstrating what the American South can offer to the national industrial hemp economy — and what regenerative agriculture can mean for communities that have been promised less than they deserve from the land they farm.

Whether you are a Louisiana farmer ready to diversify, a builder exploring hempcrete, or an investor looking at the ground floor of America's hemp economy — Delta AgroFiber Solutions wants to hear from you.
